Last week the 27th annual Spanish security congress Securmatica took place. The purpose of the summit was to analyze the key factors in the cyber security industry, to showcase cyber defence strategies of leading companies, and to highlight the benefits of the collaborative models to fight cyber-crime.
Blueliv together with Caixabank addressed the attendees with the keynote: “Using cyber security to leverage digital business”. The presentation showed how financial institutions are using new strategies and measures to minimize the risks that involve new digital business models, specifically mobile devices and environments.
Caixabank’s representative, Lucas Varela explained in the presentation how he has adapted his development lifecycle and security measures to prevent being affected by cyber threats and to guarantee business continuity.
Caixabank together with Blueliv collaborated in the vulnerability identification process for apps and worked on the mitigation with suppliers and developers. Additionally, the project included a secure coding best practices guide for mobile apps in the financial industry.
Thanks to this project, the mobile apps have stronger security processes enabling Caixabank to grow a protected new digital business model.
Furthermore, Daniel Solis had the opportunity to participate in the Securmatica opening session together with other industry leaders. He explained the benefits of the collaboration with partners and clients in matters like the advancement and the development of new solutions so as to protect the community and companies against the latest threats. He commented on how cyber criminals get ahead of the cyber security industry, and the importance of R&D investment and a collaborative model to fight cybercrime.
“At Blueliv, we believe that sharing expertise and intelligence is the key to get the upper hand in an ever-changing war on cyber crime” said Daniel, “The fight against cyber crime should take on a new direction. It should utilize the collaborative models of social media also referred to as Web 2.0 technologies that allow for the socialization of the fight against cyber threats through a community or group”.
We are an innovative company and our commitment to the innovation in the threat intelligence field was ratified last year when Gartner named us as Cool Vendors in Communications Service Provider Security.
At Securmatica, we had the chance to learn and discuss directly with the experts and find out more about how to detect and respond to a few of the most sophisticated threats targeting organizations.
We want to thank Securmatica, the attendees, and other speakers and experts for making this worthwhile event possible.
Looking forward to seeing you next year!
