Chris Gibson, CISO
Chris Gibson joined Close Brothers as Chief Information Security Officer in November 2016. Prior to his CISO role he spent over 12 years working in the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) world at Citigroup and, for 10 years, was part of the leadership of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST); two as Chair. At FIRST he implemented the Fellowship program, created to fund CERTs from UN-designated ‘Least Developed Nations’ (LDCs) allowing them to both join FIRST and attend conferences and training. Chris joined CERT-UK in November 2013 to build and launch the UK’s first formally chartered national CERT.
Tom Mullen, Head of Cyber Response & IT Security
Tom Mullen has been working in the Telecommunications industry for over 28 years, 14 of which in Security. Tom was initially recruited by BT Security to set up its e-crime team, the first end-to-end e-crime team in Europe. The team comprised of CERT Analysts, IT Investigators and Forensics specialists. Tom has presented in the House of Commons to the UK Government select committee on cybercrime, G8 cybercrime Workshop on Terrorism, CBI Plenary Panel on Cybersecurity, Microsoft Bot-Net Task Force, Europol and also presented and provided advice and guidance on numerous EU and industry initiatives. Tom has served on the FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams) board and steering committee for 4 years and has been actively involved highlighting the increase in the cyberthreat and assisting with outreach activities to help combat cybercrime in key areas such as Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia.
Nahim Fazal, Head of Threat Intelligence
Nahim Fazal has over 12 years developing and delivering innovative cyberthreat and fraud solutions, having honed his cyberthreat intelligence skillset within multinational financial services organizations including RBS and HBOS.
Nahim was the founding director of the European cybersecurity Group and has provided intelligence briefings within the Financial Crime Prevention community, law enforcement agencies, (SOCA, Scottish E-crime unit) and public sector organisations.
At Blueliv he is responsible for aligning Blueliv strategic threat intelligence with the unique needs of a broad range of industry verticals including financial services, utilities and service providers across the globe. Nahim also leads engagements with C-Level clients, partners and analysts and is also responsible for building and driving forward relationships with governments and global law enforcement agencies.
He is also a respected speaker and thought leader on issues relating to cybersecurity.
